With over 25 years of experience in business development, corporate diplomacy, banking and finance in Africa, Joel brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Africa a partner at Anchora, a global advisory company.

Currently serving as the Chair of the UK Institute of Directors (IoD) Africa Group, Joel's focus is on fostering strategic relationships by connecting with the 54 African countries through their diplomatic missions in the UK. His goal is to understand each country's business and investment needs, distil these requirements, and design pathways to encourage business interests in the continent.

Joel is also an IoD Ambassador in the North East of England and holds a graduate certificate from Oxford Said's Executive Leadership Programme, Cambridges Judges’ Business School- Business Analytics Programme. He’s also holding a postgraduate degree in Global Business at the University of Oxford.

Joel sits on the board of various company; this includes EMMS International- Scotland's longest-serving international healthcare charity, since 1841.
